What server technology do you use?
All of the websites we build use Microsoft Windows Server as a hosting platform. Windows Server is considered the obvious server of choice for mission critical websites. It's the same server technology used by TradeMe and MySpace - this country's and the worlds busiest websites!
What database (if any) do you use, and why?
We use Microsoft SQL Server to power the data requirements of all our websites. SQL Server is the well known for its reliability, secrurity and performance -the same database used by TradeMe and MySpace!
What do I need to do during the website build lifecycle?
We are here to help you through each part of developing your project. Coming to the table with some clear objectives and branding guidelines will be a great help. If you have seen other sites you like/dislike, that would be helpful too.
Will I be able to make changes to the site myself?
Yes, you will be able to update the website in real time, through an administrator login via your website – no fancy software required. Take a look at our demo to see how easy it is.
Can I host discussion forums on my website?
If you have a content managed site, then you can easily have a forum on your website. We would set it up for you, and teach you how to monitor it, which incur a relatively small cost.

How long will it take to design and develop my site?
This all depends on the scale of the website you require, and how available you are to approve each stage of the build, and develop content. A standard content managed site can be turned around in as little 2 weeks depending on our prior project commitments. However, in our experience, it is more likely to take 3-4 weeks for busy business owners trying to juggle their own workloads.
How much will my site cost?
This depends on the scale of the website you require and which features you choose to include. Basic web packages start from $1,000. Give us a call to arrange an obligation-free initial consultation so that we can give you an accurate estimate.

What are the ongoing costs? What do they cover?
You will need a domain name which costs $39.95 per annum. Once your site is built you will need to pay monthly for hosting which is explained here. If you have a database or catalogue site, you will need database hosting as well. Some e-commerce sites require security certificates to receive payments, as well as unique IP addresses. We can advise what you will need and explain all of this in an initial consultation with you. Just give us a call to set one up.
Do I pay for my website up-front, or once it's finished?
We ask for 50% deposit on the cost of the website on commencement, and the remaining 50% on completion. However, we can also provide flexible payment options, depending on the scale & length of the project, such as four 25% payments across the length of the project. We also can put you in touch with companies that provide finance options.
Will my website be Search Engine Optimised?
Yes, all our websites are built with SEO principles in mind during the coding phase. There are a number of on-page factors that also go into optimising your website for search engines, and we can provide advanced SEO competitor & market analysis and link building to ensure that your website gets the best chance of ranking highly in the major search engines.
What browsers do you test your website in?
We test all our websites in IE6, IE7, Firefox (2&3) and Safari 3 (Mac) web browsers. This covers over 98% of typical browser usage in NZ.
Will my website look the same in all modern browsers?
Because we take cross browser testing seriously, yes. There may be slight variations, but they will all still look great.
Can you build custom back-end solutions for my business requirements if I need them?

Do I have to host my website with you?
We recommend that you do, because it’s an environment that we are familiar with, we can provide superior support. As long as your host server is equipped to handle our technology, your website can stay right where it is. We will be happy to check this out for you.
If you register a domain for me, who owns it?
You do! We don’t register domains in our own name, so that you are the registrant and owner of the domain name. We are only listed as the technical contact, so you remain in control at all times.
Will you help me get traffic to my site once it's built?
