It's been a busy week here at NetPotential; we've been working hard on our new website, which was made public today.
The site has been built on the same website application framework that we will be using to roll out many of our clients' websites. The framework boasts some great features, here are the ones which we think will be most beneficial for our clients:
- Content Management System - a standard feature of modern websites
- User membership system - register, login, role based security
- Authorisation - allow access to pages based on a users role. Using this, you can give anonymous users access to public areas, allow registered user's access to premium content, and give administrators the ability to edit pages, or parts of pages as required
- Page scheduling - create a page and automatically set it to be become visible or invisible at specified dates
- Events calendar
- Form builder
- Surveys
- Forums
- Blogs or articles
- RSS - both a reader to display external content, and syndication of site content for external readers
- Search functionality
- File manager with full security
The system is great, and it means we can offer our clients these wonderful features 'out of the box', whilst still providing a totally customised design. This means we can build the most feature rich sites in a matter of days, not weeks or months.
The NetPotential site took us about one week to build - that's everything from the design, build, content writing, testing and publishing. The great thing is our site will always be changing. We'll be regularly adding articles, announcements, and will keep updating our portfolio page as we launch new sites for our clients. Better still, our administrator can do the updates - you don't need to have web design skills to update a NetPotential built website!
We're really excited about the future of NetPotential, and we can't wait to use our systems to make full potential websites for our clients!
