Experienced web designers will tell you, "Just build it — and they won't come." It's true. Simply putting up a web site won't bring visitors. It takes work to entice customers to your site once, and even more work to make them come back.

I've just read an article by Kim Komando (cool name!) on Microsoft NZ.  In the article, Kim outlines these 8 Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) tips:

1. Choose keywords wisely
2. Use keywords wisely
3. Test keywords with pay-per-click advertising
4. Build up the links to your site from other sites
5. Keep your SEO campaign ethical
6. Submit your site to the search engines
7. Monitor the progress of your SEO, but be patient
8. Consider outsourcing

At NetPotential we always consider SEO when building your website, and will give you expert advice on this topic during our initial consultation.  Our clients' sites naturally rank well in Google (and others).  For those clients with more competitive keywords, or who want to take SEO to the next level, we work with an expert SEO consultant to make sure your site's found in the top few results.
