For most of its life netpotential.co.nz ran on DNN, a .NET content platform we once recommended to clients. In August 2026 we moved it to a modern stack. Version one was rebuilt and staged in a single day, with every old address kept. Here is what the agents did, and what still needed a person.
What the agents did
- Exported the old site from its database: 111 portfolio projects, 31 blog posts and 7,024 historical form submissions
- Mirrored 446 images and converted 193 of them to WebP, cutting their size by 86%
- Rebuilt 65 pages as fast static pages on Next.js
- Mapped every old address to its new home with 66 redirects
- Added titles, descriptions and structured data to every page
What needed a person
Deciding what the site should say. The migration was quick; getting the message right took longer. In October we ran a full marketing audit of the site using 12 AI agents, which took about 45 minutes, and it was blunt: most service pages still carried copy from 2013 to 2023 under new headlines. So we rewrote them, fixed a redirect bug the audit found, lowered our prices and published them, and added pages for the work we actually do now.
What we kept
Every old URL still works. The handful of old blog posts that still have value carry a dated "from the archive" note; the ones about Internet Explorer 8 have been retired properly.
