Ecommerce websites for NZ businesses, from $2,995
Shopify and WooCommerce stores, new builds and complex migrations with hundreds of products, trade pricing and redirects that protect your rankings.
We build online stores on Shopify and WooCommerce for New Zealand retailers and wholesalers, and we move existing stores onto them without losing products, customers or search rankings. Fixed price from $2,995 + GST, with Aiva, our AI employee for online stores, free for the first month.
Shopify or WooCommerce?
We build on both and recommend whichever suits how you trade. As a rule of thumb:
| Shopify | WooCommerce | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Most retailers who want to sell and not think about servers | Stores with unusual pricing, B2B rules or a lot of content |
| Running cost | Monthly Shopify plan plus apps | Hosting plus a few paid plugins |
| Flexibility | High, within Shopify's rules | Unlimited, it's your code |
| Upkeep | Shopify handles the platform | Updates and security are on us (or you) |

What's included in a store build
- Your full catalogue: products, variants, categories and images
- Customer accounts and order history carried over on a migration
- NZ payment options: cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, Afterpay and bank transfer
- Shipping rules for NZ Post, couriers, click and collect
- Trade or wholesale pricing, and integrations with Xero, your ERP or your warehouse
- A redirect map from every old URL, so your Google rankings carry over
- Training, so your team can run the store from day one
Moving an existing store
Most of our store work is migration: WooCommerce, nopCommerce, Magento or a custom system moving to something easier to run. The risks are always the same: lost URLs, lost customer logins, and a sales dip while Google catches up. We plan for each one before we start. Every old URL gets a 301 redirect, product data is checked line by line, and launch happens when trade is quiet.
How long it takes
A new store on a theme is usually live in three to four weeks. A migration of a few hundred products with customer accounts takes four to six weeks, most of it spent checking data rather than building.
Recent store work
For Space General we build and run the custom admin app inside their Shopify store: stock mirrored from their Unleashed ERP, and a promotions engine that starts and ends sales on schedule without anyone touching it, covered by more than 2,000 automated tests. For RBS we are building a WooCommerce store for retail and trade buyers, connected to their ERP. See WooCommerce and B2B.
After launch
We host WooCommerce stores on our own infrastructure from $49 a month, and look after Shopify stores on a care plan. Either way, the people who built your store are the people who answer when something needs changing.

Questions people ask
How much does an e-commerce website cost in NZ?
Our online stores start at $2,995 + GST, fixed, and include Aiva, our AI employee for online stores, free for the first month. The price depends on the number of products, any integrations (Xero, ERP, warehouse) and custom features such as trade pricing. You get the exact figure in writing before we start.
Will I lose my Google rankings if I move platforms?
Not if the move is done properly. We redirect every old product and category URL to its new address, carry over titles and descriptions, and watch Search Console after launch.
Can my customers keep their accounts?
Yes. Customer records and order history move across. Passwords cannot be copied between platforms for security reasons, so customers set a new one the first time they log in, and we send them a friendly email explaining why.
How long does a store take?
A new store is usually live in three to four weeks. A migration of a few hundred products with customer accounts takes four to six weeks.
